How I measure
Sites the edge saw for the first time during the UTC day. For each, the time from its first request of any kind to its first probe (a request for a path only scanners ask for), measured up to when the report was published. "First visitor was a bot" means the site's very first request was a probe.
The race
| How long until the first scanner | Sites | Share of new sites |
|---|---|---|
| under a minute | 212 | 17% |
| 1–10 minutes | 22 | 2% |
| 10–60 minutes | 75 | 6% |
| 1–6 hours | 379 | 30% |
| 6+ hours | 249 | 20% |
| no scanner yet | 334 | 26% |
